StockUp - Privacy Policy

Overview

StockUp ("the App") is a pantry and expiration tracker that helps you manage food inventory, monitor expiration dates, reduce waste, and build shopping lists. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects and how it is used.

Data Collection

StockUp does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party.

• No analytics - We use no analytics service. The AdMob SDK performs ad tracking as described under Third-Party Services.
• Limited network requests - The app connects to the internet to load ads and, when you scan a barcode, to look the barcode number up in Open Food Facts (see Permissions). The data it stores for you is not transmitted.
• No accounts - No sign-up or login is required.
• No advertising - This app is ad-supported and displays ads from Google AdMob (see Third-Party Services below).
• No cloud storage - All data stays on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Food items - Name, category, quantity, storage location, and notes you enter.
• Expiration dates - Purchase dates, expiration dates, and open dates for tracked items.
• Storage locations - Custom storage locations (fridge, freezer, pantry, cabinet, other).
• Shopping list - Items you add to your shopping list with quantities and categories.
• Waste log - Records of discarded items including reason, quantity, and estimated cost.
• App preferences - Theme, currency, notification settings, and default storage location.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

• Notifications - Used to send expiration date reminders and low-stock alerts. Notifications are generated locally on your device and do not involve any server.
• Camera - Used only while you scan a product barcode. No photo or video is saved. To fill in the product name, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (world.openfoodfacts.org) together with the app's name and version (and, like any internet request, your IP address); nothing you have stored is sent. Results are cached on your device, so a re-scanned item needs no connection.

Third-Party Services

This app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To serve ads, the AdMob SDK collects information from your device — typically your advertising identifier, device and app information, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and interactions with the ads shown. That data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy . We do not send your personal records to AdMob or to any advertiser — the data this app stores for you stays on your device. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). Apart from Google AdMob and Google Play Billing (Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad), no other third-party service, SDK or API is integrated.

Ads on iPhone and iPad. On iOS the ads are also served by Google AdMob, under Google's privacy policy. Before the first ad is requested, the app runs Google's consent step, which presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether the app may track you. If you do not allow tracking, or the prompt is not shown, iOS does not give the app or Google your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and ads are not personalised using it. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

In-app purchases. Any purchase inside the app (such as the upgrade that removes ads) is handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Google or Apple processes the payment and keeps the record (Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy); the app only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase checks your Google Play or App Store account.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Note that the AdMob SDK collects device and advertising identifiers from all users, as described under Third-Party Services.

Data Deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. To delete all App data:

• Clear the App data in your device's application settings, or
• Uninstall the App.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
