Overview
SiteSnap ("the App") is a construction site photo documentation tool that captures GPS-tagged photos, organizes them into projects, and generates professional PDF reports. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses and how it is used.
Data Collection
GriswoldLabs does not collect or receive any of your data. The App has no GriswoldLabs server behind it.
- No ads - The App shows no advertising and contains no advertising software.
- No analytics - We do not use any analytics or tracking services.
- No accounts - No sign-up or login is required.
- No cloud storage - All data stays on your device.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Photos - Images captured by the camera or imported from your gallery, stored in the app's private storage directory.
- Photo metadata - GPS coordinates, timestamps, company/venue names, addresses, and notes you attach to photos.
- Voice notes (Pro) - Audio you record and attach to a photo, stored in the app's private storage directory.
- Projects - Names and descriptions for organizing photos.
- App preferences - Theme, overlay settings, date/coordinate formats, image quality, and other display options.
Your photos, voice notes, notes and projects never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them (via PDF or photo sharing).
Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:
- Camera - Required to capture photos for site documentation. Photos are stored locally on your device.
- Location (GPS) - Used to tag photos with GPS coordinates for mapping and geolocation metadata. Location data is stored locally with each photo and is never sent to GriswoldLabs. The limited cases where coordinates leave your device are listed under Network Usage below.
- Storage / Media Library - Used to import photos from your gallery and optionally save captured photos to your device's photo library.
- Microphone - Used only while you record a voice note (Pro). Recordings are stored locally on your device.
- Notifications - Used for the reminders you set inside the App. They are scheduled on your device; no push service is involved.
Network Usage
SiteSnap makes limited network requests for the following purposes only:
- Map tiles - When generating PDF reports that include location maps, the App downloads map tile images from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org). Only the tile coordinates for the mapped area are sent; no personal data is transmitted.
- Reverse geocoding - The App may use the device's built-in location services to convert GPS coordinates to street addresses. This uses the operating system's geocoding service (provided by Google on Android and Apple on iOS).
- Weather (Pro) - When the camera has a GPS position, the App sends the latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) to record the current weather with the photo. Only the coordinates are sent; the App adds no account or device identifier.
Purchases
SiteSnap Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). The payment is handled entirely by Google or Apple under their own privacy policies. GriswoldLabs never receives your payment details.
Third-Party Services
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Data Deletion
You can delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage in your device's settings. All locally stored photos, projects, and preferences will be permanently removed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
