SipTally ("the App") is a drink tracker developed by GriswoldLabs. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours behind it. Everything you log stays on your phone. This page says exactly what does and does not leave the device.
Your drink log (each amount, the kind of drink, and the time you logged it), your daily goal, your unit preference, your quick-add amounts, your reminder schedule and your theme choice are stored in the App's local storage on your phone. We cannot see them. If you uninstall the App they are deleted, and you can clear them at any time from Settings using Reset All Data.
The App has no account, no cloud sync and no export to any server. Your drink log is never transmitted anywhere.
Advertising. The free version of the App shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and transmits your device's advertising ID, your IP address (which may be used to estimate the general location of the device), information about your interactions with ads and the app, and diagnostic information, under Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). This data is encrypted in transit. AdMob is never given your drink log, your goal or anything else you enter in the App, and the advertising ID is never linked to any of it. You can reset or delete the advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's settings.
Ads on iPhone and iPad. On iOS the ads are also served by Google AdMob, under Google's privacy policy. Before the first ad is requested, the app runs Google's consent step, which presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether the app may track you. If you do not allow tracking, or the prompt is not shown, iOS does not give the app or Google your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and ads are not personalised using it. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Removing ads. The one-time purchase that removes ads is handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Google or Apple processes the payment and keeps the record (Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy); the App only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase checks your Google Play or App Store account. Once the purchase is active the App stops requesting ads, and nothing further is sent to AdMob.
Nothing else leaves the device. The App sends no analytics, no crash reports and no data to any AI or cloud service, and it makes no network requests of its own beyond the ones the ads and billing services above make.
The App requests permission to post notifications, which Android (or iOS on iPhone and iPad) asks for the first time you turn reminders on. It uses the internet and network-state permissions for the ad and billing services described above, and the billing permission for the ad removal purchase. It does not use the camera, the microphone, your location, your contacts, your files or your health data, and it does not request exact-alarm permission.
Reminders are off by default. If you turn them on, they are scheduled on your phone by the App and shown by Android at the times you chose. Nothing about them is sent anywhere, and no reminder content leaves the device.
SipTally is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The hydration multipliers the App shows come from a published trial (Maughan RJ et al., American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 2016) and are presented, with their sources and their limits, on the "Why these numbers" screen in the App. They are a reference, not a recommendation about your own fluid intake.
SipTally is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The App is not a Families programme app and its ads are configured to a maximum content rating matching its store content rating.
