Overview
RxLog ("the App") is a medication and supplement tracker that helps you manage dosing schedules, track adherence, and generate reports for healthcare providers. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects and how it is used.
Data Collection
RxLog does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with the developer or any third party by default.
- No analytics - We do not use any analytics or tracking services.
- No accounts required - No sign-up or login is required.
- Local-first storage - All data stays on your device by default.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Profiles - Names and labels for people you track medications for (self, spouse, parent, child).
- Medication records - Medication names, dosages, forms, categories, frequencies, colors, and active/inactive status.
- Dose history - Timestamps of taken, skipped, or undone doses.
- Refill tracking - Pill counts and refill alert thresholds.
- Symptom entries - Symptom logs with severity, notes, and associated medications.
- Health readings - Blood pressure and blood glucose readings.
- Family history - Family medical history entries.
- App preferences - Theme, notification settings, and display options.
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or back it up.
Optional Cloud Backup
RxLog offers optional cloud backup via Google Drive. When enabled:
- Your data is uploaded to your personal Google Drive account.
- We do not have access to your Google Drive or your backed-up data.
- You can disable cloud backup at any time in Settings.
Camera and Photos
RxLog may request camera and photo library access for:
- Pill bottle scanning - OCR recognition of medication labels to auto-fill medication details.
- Pill identification - Photo-based pill identification using AI services.
Photos are processed locally or via secure third-party AI APIs and are not stored on our servers.
Advertising
The free version of RxLog may display advertisements via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. The paid version contains no ads.
Health Information Disclaimer
RxLog is a personal tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider regarding medications and dosing.
Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
- Notifications - Medication reminders and refill alerts, generated locally on your device.
- Camera - Pill bottle scanning and pill photo identification.
- Photo Library - Selecting existing photos for pill identification.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Data Deletion
All data is stored locally on your device. To delete all App data:
- Clear the App data in your device's application settings, or
- Uninstall the App.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
