ParkPaws Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Overview

ParkPaws is a privacy-first dog park discovery and check-in tracking app. Your data stays on your device. We do not operate any servers or cloud services for this app.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. ParkPaws does not transmit your personal information to external servers. There are no accounts and no cloud sync. The app is ad-supported and the AdMob SDK performs ad tracking (see Third-Party Services).

In-app purchases. Any purchase inside the app (such as the upgrade that removes ads) is handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Google or Apple processes the payment and keeps the record (Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy); the app only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase checks your Google Play or App Store account.

Data Stored on Device

ParkPaws stores the following data locally on your device using AsyncStorage:

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the Export feature to share it.

Location Data

ParkPaws requests location permission to find dog parks near you. Your location is:

You can deny location permission and the app will still function, though park search will not be available.

Third-Party Services

ParkPaws uses the following third-party service:

Camera & Photos

ParkPaws may request camera permission to let you take photos of your dogs or park visits. Photos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any server.

Advertising

The free version of ParkPaws may display advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data according to Google's Privacy Policy. The paid version does not include advertisements.

Ads on iPhone and iPad. On iOS the ads are also served by Google AdMob, under Google's privacy policy. Before the first ad is requested, the app runs Google's consent step, which presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether the app may track you. If you do not allow tracking, or the prompt is not shown, iOS does not give the app or Google your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and ads are not personalised using it. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Data Export

You can export all your data as a JSON file using the Export feature in Settings. This file is shared through your device's share sheet — we have no access to it.

Children's Privacy

ParkPaws does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
