GarageKeep Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 20, 2026

Overview

GarageKeep is a companion app for LubeLogger, a self-hosted vehicle maintenance tracker. GarageKeep connects directly to your self-hosted LubeLogger instance. We do not operate any servers or cloud services.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. GarageKeep communicates exclusively with your self-hosted LubeLogger server. All vehicle data, maintenance records, and fuel logs are stored on your server, not on any servers operated by Griswold Labs.

Data Stored on Device

GarageKeep stores the following data locally on your device using AsyncStorage:

This data never leaves your device except to communicate with your self-hosted LubeLogger server.

Network Communication

GarageKeep communicates with the LubeLogger server URL you configure. The free version also makes network requests to Google AdMob to serve ads. No other data is sent to Griswold Labs or any other external servers. The Pro version makes only the LubeLogger requests.

In-app purchases. Any purchase inside the app (such as the upgrade that removes ads) is handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Google or Apple processes the payment and keeps the record (Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy); the app only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase checks your Google Play or App Store account.

Notifications

GarageKeep may request permission to send local notifications for maintenance reminders. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No push notification services are used.

Third-Party Services

The free version may display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data per Google's Privacy Policy. The Pro version has no ads or third-party services.

Ads on iPhone and iPad. On iOS the ads are also served by Google AdMob, under Google's privacy policy. Before the first ad is requested, the app runs Google's consent step, which presents Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether the app may track you. If you do not allow tracking, or the prompt is not shown, iOS does not give the app or Google your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), and ads are not personalised using it. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Data Security

Your server credentials are stored locally on your device. We recommend using HTTPS for your LubeLogger server URL if accessing over the internet. On local networks, HTTP is acceptable.

Children's Privacy

GarageKeep is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
