BabyLog is a privacy-first baby tracking app for parents and caregivers. Your baby's records are stored on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync, and we do not operate any servers or cloud services for this app.
We do not collect any personal data. BabyLog does not transmit your baby's records to us or to anyone else. The free version is ad-supported, and the Google AdMob SDK collects device information to serve ads (see Third-Party Services).
BabyLog stores the following data locally on your device, in the app's private storage:
Health information. Growth records and health entries are health data about your child. BabyLog stores them on your device only. They are never sent to us, never shared with advertisers, and never used for any purpose other than showing them back to you and including them in a backup or report you choose to create.
This data does not leave your device unless you copy it, save a backup file, or create a report, as described below.
Backup files and reports are not encrypted. Once you share or save one, it is handled by your device's operating system and by the app or service you choose to send it to; Griswold Labs never receives it.
BabyLog makes no network requests of its own. The only internet traffic is the Google AdMob SDK loading and reporting ads in the free version (see Third-Party Services) and, if you buy or restore BabyLog Pro, Google Play Billing (on iPhone and iPad, Apple's App Store). The data it stores for you is not transmitted.
Notifications. If you turn on feed reminders, BabyLog schedules a local notification on your device ("Feed reminder — Last feed was 3 h ago"). Reminders are off by default, and the notification permission is requested only when you turn them on. Nothing about them is sent off the device; there is no push server.
BabyLog does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.
The free version of this app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To serve ads, the AdMob SDK collects information from your device — typically your advertising identifier, device and app information, coarse location inferred from your IP address, and interactions with the ads shown. That data is handled by Google under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not send your baby's records to AdMob or to any advertiser — the data this app stores for you stays on your device. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads). If you buy BabyLog Pro, the app shows no ads and does not start the ad SDK. Apart from Google AdMob and Google Play Billing (Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad), no other third-party service, SDK or API is integrated.
In-app purchases. Any purchase inside the app is handled by Google Play Billing on Android and by the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad. Google or Apple processes the payment and keeps the record (Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy); the app only learns whether the purchase is active. We never see your payment details. Restoring a purchase checks your Google Play or App Store account.
Your baby's data is stored in the app's private storage on your device, protected by your device's built-in security (screen lock, encryption). On Android, BabyLog keeps your baby's records, the widget images and scheduled reminders out of Google's cloud backup; a phone-to-phone transfer when you set up a new phone still carries them, and so does a backup file you save yourself. Uninstalling the app deletes all stored data.
BabyLog is designed for parents and caregivers, not for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. The app stores information about a child — name, birth date, gender, daily care logs, growth and health entries — that the parent or caregiver enters. It stays on that adult's device and leaves it only in a clipboard copy, backup file or report the adult chooses to create and share.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
